- Men and women compete
- Three different categories compete on the same team
- Each nation allowed a squad of 16 with 12 available for each match
- Six players on the field at any given time
- within two pools of competing nations
- Top two countries from each pool progress to a championship round of semi-finals, bronze, and gold medal matches
Categories:
Each player has a points value based on their category. Amount of points allowed on court per team is 12 at any one time.
- Maximum (1 point): Players with significant physical or functional impairment.
- Moderate (2 points): Moderate physical or functional impairment.
- Open (3 points): Non-permanent physical disabilities or illness.
