  • Men and women compete in separate events (apart from 4x100m relay)
  • Track events comprise 100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m and 4x100m team relay
  • Field events consist of shot put and discus

Categories:

Track:

  • IT1 Ambulant: Single or double below the knee amputation or substantial foot to knee damage.
  • IT2 Ambulant: Single or double above the knee amputation or severe damage from foot to thigh.
  • IT3 Ambulant: Single upper limb amputation, permanent upper body limb impairment or permanent limited function in one or both limbs.
  • IT4 Wheelchair racing participants: Spinal cord injuries or similar impairment but with full trunk function.
  • IT5 Wheelchair racing participants: Spinal cord injuries or similar impairment but without full trunk function.
  • IT6 Visually impaired: Blind or partially sighted.
  • IT7 Open Class: Slight or non-permanent physical disabilities, or other psychological or unseen conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder.

Field: Standing throws

  • IF1 Standing: Single or double leg amputees or severe impairment and moderate balance issues - no upper limb impairment.
  • IF2 Standing: Varying degrees of upper limb impairment.
  • IF3 Visually impaired: Blind or partially sighted.
  • IF4 Open Class: Slight or non-permanent physical disabilities or psychological conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder.

Field: Seated throws

  • IF5 Lower limb impairment: Single bilateral amputation, spinal cord injury or similar but with full trunk function.
  • IF6 Paraplegia/impaired trunk: Very high bilateral above the knee amputations, spinal cord injury or similar but without full trunk function.
  • IF7 Tetraplegia/severe hemiplegia: Severe spinal cord or upper limb impairments, they may also have a loss of trunk or lower limb function.
