Judy Puddifoot

Dog loving Judy Puddifoot dreamed of being a vet her entire life, but she never thought that she was good enough to achieve her dream.

She finished school with average grades… but testament to her work ethic and determination she earned herself two degrees (BSc Zoology and MSc Wildlife Conservation) plus a dog behaviour course, and ran her own business.

But Judy's heart lay in veterinary medicine, so she applied to the RVC and eventually she made it. But being a vet student didn't go entirely to plan when she failed her 3rd year exams twice - each time by just 1%. She had to repeat a year. When she went to appeal they confirmed her suspicions that she was dyslexic.

Throughout her final year working hands on with real patients, Judy has excelled with the practical side of veterinary work. She is a natural surgeon and her people skills are second to none. But her dyslexia remains her Achilles heel.

Judy wears her heart on her sleeve – and is the most passionate and determined vet student. She desperately wants to become a small animal vet – and save the world, one dog at a time.
