I am a little squeamish around blood, but I'm determined to stay calm in the delivery room
Jamie

Like many 23 year-olds, Jamie’s life revolves around his close-knit group of mates, the footie, and going out pubbing and clubbing. Caron would like him to cut down on his lads lifestyle and focus more on her and the baby.

Jamie finds watching pregnancy TV shows a terrifying experience. He has never changed a nappy but will give it a good go. When they found out they were having a boy, Jamie began looking up cool names for the baby.

Artistic Caron initially panicked when she found out she was pregnant as it was so unexpected. However, once she overcame the shock she has embraced impending motherhood. She has an active life-style, running, zumba and keeping fit. While Jamie likes to go out with the boys, Caron prefers staying in, a life-style choice she is struggling to get Jamie to adapt to. Caron has already painted stencils on walls next to the baby cot.

Caron has a blood condition called ITP meaning her Platelet count can drop low during labour so she may not be able to have an epidural or have forceps used during labour – anything which may mean she loses blood. If she isn’t allowed pain relief Jamie’s support will be more important than ever.
