Facts and figures!

When I commenced with blogs, as regards renewable energy and all its other concerns that one is led into, I did'nt expect that the whole matter would continue till now. What has happened, then, is that I have developed more than a passing interest in this subject; the result being that I'm pretty well bought over.
When I started to write, I must state, that although I lacked some facts, figures were not forthcoming.
Figures are, afterall, so important when a point is to be made. The natural elements which I have been dealing with concerning the climate over periods of time are more easily understood if theories are made more clear with figures and percentages etc.
Charts backed with figures make it clear for all what direction global warming, the earths surface temperature, sea level rise and the concentration of co2 in the atmosphere go in over the years and over the decades.
We now see at a glance and more clearly how the deliberations of the men of science materalise over the years. Records have been kept of various conditions since 1860. At that rate we can have an enlightening understanding how the different elements affect our thinking in the present day and age.

Facts & Figures indeed Island Wanderer...I see the WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not the wrestlers) report is just out. YOU can see it here: http://www.panda.org/news_facts/publications/general/livingplanet/index.cfm

It starts with the stark message: "Humanity now exceeds the planet's capacity to sustain us."

Malcolm from Edinburgh

Malcolm,
Yes, facts and figures, though stastics probably would be better. They are always a good back up,especially, to a scientific report.
Thanks for directing my attention to WWF I had a fleeting look at the web site - seems good. I must point out that global warming and climate change are starkly relevent, and in this country, we must pull out all the stops if we are going to beat the problem for the future and become a leader world - wide.
Again quite true, the planet is over populated.Every nation in the world requires to to address this mammouth problem now.I believe that with faithful and dedicated effort that eventual success could be forthcoming. That is one good reason why the matters of climate change and global warming require priority of immense proportions,
IW.
