Mark

When Mark left school he did everything he could to make money but avoid having a 9 to 5 job.

He tried several business ventures including opening a hat shop and he also put on a few wrestling shows which drew a very small crowd, and were laughed at. When his girlfriend Helen fell pregnant, Mark knew he had to get a steady pay check, and so he bit the bullet and got a job as a lifeguard in Scotstoun Leisure Centre, a job he describes as "soul destroying".

It’s a soap opera, it’s a drama, it’s an action movie. And everything ends in a fight.
Mark

When Mark and Helen found themselves living in temporary accommodation in the Red Road flats Mark knew he needed to find a way out of his job and at the same time provide a better life for his new family. That was when he received a phone call from a wrestler named Jack Jester. Jester wanted to develop a new dark wrestling character and knew that Mark wanted to promote shows to an adult audience, he convinced Mark to give promotion one last try.

Frustrated by the censorship which limited the violence and thus the freedom of expression in his favourite sport, Mark set out to bring wrestling back to what it once was. He promoted over-18s wrestling company Insane Championship Wrestling and put on events at Maryhill Community Central Hall. He wrote storylines that would grab people’s attention in a dramatic way – from hard-core violence to clever comedy – and word soon spread around the U.K about this crazy wrestling promotion from Glasgow.

Dallas was offered a spot in the now defunct nightclub Apollo 23 in Glasgow. These wrestling shows triggered a nation-wide cult following and lead to ICW playing several other nightclubs in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Insane Championship Wrestling now has a regular spot at The Garage nightclub which they sell out on a regular basis. The company continues to grow as does Mark’s status in the business that once laughed at him. One thing is for sure, no one is laughing now!
