How did you start off in gymnastics?

I started Ballet classes aged three and joined the local gymnastics team when I was five (following a year of waiting impatiently after being told I was too young!) From that moment on I never looked back. I wasn't interested in a career in anything else, despite the school careers adviser's best attempts to change my mind!

Can you tell us about your career so far?

Since graduating from the National Centre of Circus Arts, I have worked all over the world. Being a versatile artist has given me the opportunity to get involved in a huge range of events including stage shows, festivals, television work and the Olympic Torch Relay.

What qualities does it take to compete professionally in gymnastics?

Dedication and determination. Professional gymnasts are some of the strongest people I know, both physically and mentally.

What kind of qualities will you need from your celebrity partner in order to train effectively?

Enthusiasm, trust and somebody who knows how to work hard and have fun all at the same time.

What advice would you give young people interested in taking up the sport?

Do it! I lost count a long time ago of the number of people who say to me "I wish I'd done gymnastics as a child". However my advice is not just to young people, I teach acrobatics to a wide range of age groups and as Peter has proved it's never too late to start!

What do you do in your down time?

In the rare moments that I am not training, teaching or performing I like to relax! I read books, watch films, go for walks and enjoy spending time with my friends and family.

Who is your sporting hero?

David Weir. I had the pleasure of watching him win gold at the 2012 Paralympics and will never forget the cheers that erupted inside the stadium. Such an inspirational athlete.

What song is guaranteed to get you dancing?

Anything by Justin Timberlake.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

Zooey Deschanel.
