Workshop's completed

Well, after the few bad days of wet, wet, wet, the workshop is finally finished including the roofing, today wednesday the weather was so nice I finally got the raeburn out, what a monster if I had fired this thing up, it would had blown a gasket, it was like metal being submerged under water completly rotten.

As you can see Sarah has more room now? well it feels like it anyway and I think she getting a little excited cos maybe the kitchen may get put in (not quite)!

I have just found out the conservetory is now ready, so if they deliver it this week I may get it done by the weekend....pending weather again :o)

Oh the chicks are now outside and doing great, I will take a picture later to show you how fluffy these things are....See you all soon

Oops, pressed the wrong key there, sending my comment prematurely into the ether. What about heating? It will surely be too cold to work there during the winter if you don't have heating. Rayburn looks dangerous to me, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! Good luck Fred.

Jill from EK

To think you wanted two grand for that Rayburn, Fred! # Very nice job, Fred. I could use one of them in southern Indiana. Hyper-B is thinking of coming, provided I furnish him a flotation jacket: he aims to paddle down the Ohio and then down the mighly old Miss. a la Huckleberry. I am going to suggest he plans any such trip to coincide with yours: this way you could complete my work shed faster, and then share the flotation jacket ...

Well done, Fred Blog the Builder. You are making a grand job of it and can't wait to see pics of the chicks!!

With a few roses around the door it would make a perfect little home, or get-away. Why is it workshops are erected with such tender care? Seriously ... it looks wonderful ... [wonders if there is a workshop warming party?]

Plaid from 2nd floor room with a balcony

Jill, I must confess that when I stripped the raeburn down who would guess how much metal was in this thing? but as soon as i took the top burning plate off with a grinder then hit it with an electric chisel on the joints and the thing fell apart almost. As to heating we have electric heaters at present, with 2 x coal fires (bunker is full) for winter plus 2 x free standing bottle gas heating we are doing ok at the mo......but I will get central heating just looking at the cost as we speak......The roof is priority at the moment, if they ever get back to me !!! MJC I might get 拢2k for the scrap LOL (not).....a trip doen the mississippi sounds great. Squidly in a day or so, as I keep moving the chicks around at present, Im going to lay a small concrete pad for them when the weather get wet, not good to have muddy feet? (for the chicks) not me. Gregg, Hope the family is well nice to hear from you and hope alls going well, Hey whats wrong with my drylining?....but your right George would have done it quicker....sarah is doing ok on the 2 ring stove, but she also has a 2 ring electric one too with oven, Lou can have a sausage or two? Plaid, thank you for your kind comment I had to invest in this workshop ive got so many tools, but your right i nearly bought a log cabin......lol maybe holiday let?? try and earn some money from somewhere.

About the concrete floor for the dainty chicken feet, Fred: I do hope you are incorporating some radiation heat tubing. You would not want your silkies to develop arthritis, now, would you?!

It's what Sunny would call a 'back house' pretending to be a shed...

Which corner are you putting the jacuzzi in, Fred? Yes, yes, I know it is a workshop. But with all the amenities, right? # By the way, Fred, what's the use of sending you an email to the address you provided if you are not giving an e-answer? Do you need a stamp?!! Anyway, don't bother: you're too late. 'ta anyhow. # by the way, with regards to the chicken house, I obviously meant radiant heat tubing, not radiation. We would not want your eggs to glow in the dark ...

Fred, the first part of my comment went missing, where I admired your shed and all its windows for good light, and wondered what services you had in it - power of course, but I wondered if you had water piped in as well. BTW how are your kids settling in at school?

Jill from EK

Forgot to add, mjc, that the jacuzzi is of course going in the conservatory so they can sit in the warm bubbles and watch the wind and rain through the windows.

hi Jill, LOL no power yet but i will get to it just running of a genny or extension at the moment, the first part of the workshop on the double door side is purley workshop....on the back is another single door, which is going to be divided into storage area, Oh the kids are doing great, Holly loves her school, and has settled in very well and have made friends... on her second day there in the evening two girls knocked for her to play which made us very happy i think we worried more about her settling in, as to Chris he has a new set of friends now and is enjoying it, it was never a problem with him as he makes friends very easy. Buy the way, the conservetory arrived at 4;30pm today, so quess what i will be doing this weekend?

Fred from Busy weekend

mjc.......Sorry but I have not received an email? lol no heating they cuddle up together just fine.

Fred from Point

Email resent to the same FB etc @aol.com address you provided on your blog Fred, just for your info. This time I included a virtual stamp. You probably chucked the message out with the Rayburn. Anyway, 'tis too late now, but thanks anyway.

mjc from NM, USA

No, Fred, you can't blame me simply because you fell through the conservatory roof in your hurry to get to the phone. I did not call Fred, old boy: must have been the ex-Prime Minister calling from his super-armored, environmentally friendly BMW 7 sedan. Why was he calling? I have no idea, but perhaps the other bloggers do?
