Looking good Freddie boy. Have a nice relaxing Christmas in your new home ( well new to you,) Oh I forgot you've got kids, oh well have a good one anyway, assuming that Carol hasn't bu**ered off to the pub by now. Cheery..

Tws from Lewis

Most impressive, Fred, working until all hours to get it all done. Merry Xmas and best wishes for 2008

"Mmmmmmmnnnnnnnggggrrrrrphoooohdammit!" You've gone and published more and even perficker photos of That Kitchen and I am having to sit on fpu with my paw over her mouth because the air would turn navy otherwise. I am delighted to see a cat in its proper place. We contribute to the health of the nation's children by walking all over your work surfaces, dining tables, cookers etc, thus ensuring they build up nice strong immunities to germs. A very merry chrimble to you and yours.

You have finally got there and the kitchen looks lovely, well done. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Lovely job; I'll bet it's not so clean come Tuesday night.

I have loved following your blog--your house looks great! Merry christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family.

Kathy from USA

I really can't quite believe what Fred has wrought!! After you finish with your house (can't be much longer now, can it, Fred?), the rest of Lewis could use the benefits of your magic hammer and boundless energy. # Hope the tartan boxer shorts Sarah got you for Christmas are the right size...

mjc from NM,USA

And a Happy New Year to you all

There you go, Fred, I just knew you'd get the tiling done! Kitchen looks brilliant, nice shot of perfectly posed cat as well. All the very best to you, Sarah, Holly and Chris for 2008 - have you made up your list of projects yet? Good luck!

Jill from EK

Thanks tws see you soon, very best wishes in 2008 to you Arnish, lol fc she (Noodles the Cat) normally is pretty good dont worry we have anti bacterial stuff everywhere? Thanks Amandaand Kathy a very merry Christmas too to you and yours HAPPY NEW YEAR ;o),mjc Sarah loved the cookery books I bought 2 from Fushia Dunlop the 3 others it will keep Sarah busy.....I now exspect great things from this kitchen, Tartan Boxers not this year but I got great walking socks as my feet have been freezing for some reason....Have a great NEW YEAR ALL

Fred from Resting now?

Comments are disappearing in the ether at a rather rapid rate these days. Hopefully this one makes it through. # Have you selected the garden seeds for 08 yet, Fred? That's what I have been doing last week. The RHS top tomato varieties cannot be bought or brought into the US (which annoys my wife no end): probably because you folks don't know how to pronounce the word, but maybe not. # About your frozen feet: make sure they are well washed with anti-bacterial soap before they freeze, Fred. I know Englishmen don't like to wash their feet, but, remember old lad, it just may be different in the land of haggis. # About the cooking books: I am waiting for Dunlop's third cook book. Perhaps she should drop by Thailand for a year, and come out with one on the local cuisine. Is Sarah the one toiling over the wok or are you? Personally, I would rather do the chopping (and cleaning the kitchen counters) and let the wife do the cooking.

mjc from NM,USA

Hi MJC.....lol I will bear that im mind agout my feet thanks, surgical spirit is good for them to, as to the cooking that will be Sarah's area, after we give main pressies at Christmas we have dips (suprizes) in a sack, so I got Sarah all kinds of chineese herbs, waterchestnuts, noodles etc so she can have a practice then Christian our Son bought her a new wok so she has no excuse now.......as for the veg the poly tunnel is on its way and yes I have a selection of vegetables to plant seedling at 1st to see what will grow....Oh buy the way the silkie chicks we have now 3 x Cocks and one hen, so we would 2 x Orpington checkens today who should be ready for laying in Feb....so I may get a fresh egg this year?

Fred from Point

That sounds familiar...

Flying Cat from helping at the sink

Orpingtons, eh? The real thing, Fred. Good layers, and then good also for the soup (with some finely green onions added at the last moment). # Daughter left to go back to uni. yesterday: too quiet around here. She did do quite a bit of cooking: she loves it, but has not gone beyond reliance on the menus/recipes from cookbooks. Clearly, while away, she is not subsisting on marmite slathered on white bread...

mjc from NM,USA

Hi MJC yes I like these Orpingtons they look proper too? Which Uni does your Daughter go to.....is it in USA when we introduced the new birds to the Silkies.....it was like a cock fight, but picking on the Hens, and drawing blood. Sarah and I soon removed then and have only introduced 1 cock now

Fred from Awaiting for some Eggs

Good grief tell him mjc - Fred, none of yer American redbricks here, dreaming spires, Morse, marmalade, Gormenghastian cloisters, ivory towers, arcane rituals (like haggis with gravy and no clapshot)...
