Cocka Doodle What???

Well with the festive period over, back to work, Guess what? those Silkie chickens we bought.....all 4 are Cocks and Cock a Doodle Do in harmony so no eggs here then, so we have bought 2 more Hens (Orpington's) this time and are nearly ready for laying around February hopefully but I have included a picture for you to look at real friendly things......advert in the Crofters if you want any Cock.

The guttering is now completed (and LOOK) does not run past the windows!eventhough the weather has been bitter cold for the last couple of days, felt like my fingers where going to fall off but its another job done.

I have ordered the polytunnel for the rear garden to start preparing for this season, and we have also ordered the posts, wire, mesh to build a new open Chicken run.

While you have all been on the festive break I also got myself a little job so things on the house will now slow down abit, as we need money coming back as it wont last forever.

good looking birds, Fred ... :-) though I fear they're going to have their work cut out for them with 4 cocks in attendance, aren't they ...?!

soaplady from cloud of admiration

Where are you working then Fred? I could pester you at work, if you like? Nice work on the house, it doesn't look the same place. Cheery..

Tws from Here

Great rebuild Fred, note you left the push mower out side again, its a working tool so put in the shed, from one who fixes them. Regards

roy from Sofla.Oz

Your house looks great, Fred, good work on the guttering. You can cope with all weathers now! Good luck with the chicks, I hope the chicken-sexer got it right this time! What is your job? Good luck with it anyway!

Jill from EK

House looks great Fred Shame about the stone missing in the middle of the foot path lol Hope new job go's ok 4 u

Louis from At my Desk

It looks so much better without guttering going accross the windows...I have often wondered...WHY? Why on earth PUT the gutters accross the windows?

Flying Cat from snugasabuginarug

Yes, it looks really odd, FC, I've always thought so. Presumably it cuts down on the number of drainpipes/drains needed?

Jill from EK

Fpu's still pondering on whether to put an ad in the Crofters or not...probably not...

Flying Cat from a bird in the hand...

Yes Jill and Fc....you are correct the last owner was a bit quick fix and the cheapest way possible bit of a force economy. Oh Jill, its a night porters job at the moment, until some comes along....better than nothing.

Fred from Point

That's great, Fred, a nice bit of a change, eh? Mind you, if you're working nights you're supposed to sleep during the day, not work on the house :-) Good luck! Don't tell Tws where you are, he'll be turning up to see you :-)

Jill from EK

I hope you take a good book with you...I'm guessing there's not a great deal for a night porter to do at this time of year...but it could be interesting as the season warms up...

Flying Cat from Hotel Paradiso
