Sex, Lies and Love Bites: The Agony Aunt Story, presented by psychotherapist and agony aunt Philippa Perry, is a witty and revealing look at the problem page's enduring appeal. In the documentary Philippa picks her way through three centuries of advice on broken hearts, cheating partners and adolescent angst to uncover a fascinating portrait of our social history.

    It was very enjoyable.

Creepy, though, how Victorian pervs managed to 'infiltrate' problem pages by showing an seriously yukky interest in whipping girls.....

Must say, I found Claire Rayner's condom demo quite 'shocking' still. But she was very matter of fact and didn't allow jokiness or embarrassment (or worse), and perhaps that's something we could still do with.

Hilarious to watch the 'photo-shoot' of the Sun's problem page being put together. And a bit of a giveaway by the agony aunt saying that it would always, always, always contain one photo at least of a nubile young female in her undies! Good old Sun......

Yes, I thought the Deidre's Photo Casebook segment quite hilarious. The reaction when she said "That's my only dress!" then modified it to "That's my only girlie dress". Then it just got better.

I can't believe that I never knew that Jay Rayner was Claire's son.

Why start a completely unnecessary duplicate thread on this television programme.

I don't know why this POV message board bothers to have a search box facility on it anymore.
