Brotherhood of Man is the UK’s winning Eurovision entry of 1976. They scooped 164 points with their song 'Save Your Kisses For Me'; a song which, following the competition, became a major hit around the world. Not only did it reach the top number one spot in many countries, it also became the biggest hit of 1976, selling over a million copies. To this date, it has sold six million copies worldwide, making it the UK’s biggest-selling Eurovision entry of all time.

We were very, very proud to win for our country.
Nicky Stevens

Following their Eurovision victory, Brotherhood of Man went on to release an album and release several number one singles in the UK, including ‘Figaro’ and ‘Angelo’. They were also invited to appear at the 1977 Royal Variety Performance. Later years saw them take a break, but thankfully for us, 1986 saw them reform.

When it comes to the band’s original formation, songwriter and record producer, Tony Hiller, is the person to be credited. He envisioned Brotherhood of Man as a band with a frequently-changing line-up of session singers, but by 1973 decided that four particular members would become permanent fixtures. Those members are the band that remains today!
