The cost of shipping in a bride

I'm indebted to Arnhem Lighthouse for initiating the debate about shipping costs and I've a point or two to make to Mr Nicolson. Having attended his Institute for some years I feel as if I know him personally already. My gripe is over the cost of importing brides. I ordered a well proportioned looking woman from an agency in Chernobyl - she had glowing testimonials. I broke the poor girl's heart when I had to renege because of the surcharges that were being levied by the ferry companies. My cousin Roddie in Ullapool bought her cousin and the difference in shipping costs could have bought a new hen house in Luerbost. I tried later with a Thai agency that was no better although they were offering a buy one get one free offer which I thought extremely competitive. Thank God I have public spirited cousins to help me arrange this dating extravaganza and help me solve my loneliness problems.
Only 90 days to go till the fetival kicks off. I'm ticking of the days as is Chrissie Mary if I'm not mistaken.

My doesn't time fly! By my calculation the fank is on the 10th of April then? Just before my next birthday! Well done Calumannabel! This means I won't have to lie (as much) about my age. So what's the best (cheapest) place to book into for this extravaganza? Luckily as we have the longship we travel free, shoulda looked closer to home.

To anyone chancing on this site for the first time it would pay to look back through past postings. We are staging a massive dating extravaganza in early April at the South Dell fank in Lewis. The world and his ex wife will be attending and past postings will fill in missing details. We are on a lot of medication!!!!

Methinks Calumannabel needs a new keyboard, for otherwise making a key point in the bridal acquisition trade. Perhaps a the prospect of providing a bride a home across the Arnish moor, called Arnhame, is what caused the confusion with a Bridge too Far. Anyway, Arnish Lighthouse has lined up its prospective partners in the last blogging entry; winking at Tiumpan seems to be the most promising so far. Ruadh Reidh might also be in the running, but whether Arnish is attracted to redheads remains to be seen.

I bought a Mars bar that had been produced in Slough a mere 500 miles away. It was just some fudgy toffee with chocolate round it. By the time it reached the local shop in Swainbost it had reached 42 pence and they still refused to deliver it to my door. Is this the sort of thing you're looking for?

Chrissie Mary is indeed ticking off the days Calum. Mind you she's meeting a lot of new people in hospital. There's been a rush of admissions arising from a sudden mysterious increase in obsessive compulsive disorder amongst visitors. Folks are insisting on unusually high standards of hygiene and then becoming giddy and emotional. We know a blog about that don't we?

Cheapest accommodation would be to turn the boat upside down and sleep under it. Donald can sort out duvets. What sort of Tog are you looking for? Otherwise, the bunkhouse at Fivepenny tea rooms are a possibility as is the Salvation Army Hostel for Distressed Longboat Passengers which is behind Costco in Habost. There are the usual B&B's serving the full Lewis breakfast - don't ask what's in the muesli. Hope this is a help. More info if required

I see the Island Blogging homepage shows the Arran Ladies have already set-off ina two boat race North for the Fank? Heave Awa girls!

Dear Mike I can see you're getting sucked in to this lunacy. Sorry. I think this is more likely two boatloads of irate husbands and lovers chasing their loved ones over the seas past Skye
